3.Product Description

Loxoprofen Sodium is NSAID (non-steroidal antinflammatory drug) and a prodrug of a propionic acid derivative for oral administration. Chemically, it is monosodium 2-[4-[(2-oxocyclopentyl) methyl] phenyl]propanoate dihydrate. 

The chemical formula of Loxoprofen Sodium is C15H17NaO3?2H2O. It has a calculated molecular weight of 304.31 as the dihydrate and the following structural formula:

4.Indication

 For relief of inflammation and pain in the following disorders and symptoms:

Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lower back pain, periarthritis of the shoulder, and shoulder-arm-neck syndrome, toothache

For relief of postoperative, post-traumatic or post exodontial pain and inflammation

 For antipyresis and relief of pain in the following disorder:

Acute upper respiratory, tract inflammation (including acute upper, airway inflammation, accompanying acute bronchitis).

Recommended Dose

? For indications (5.1 & 5. 2) the usual adult dosage is 60 mg of loxoprofen sodium orally three times a day.

? For p.r.n. use, administer 60-120 mg once orally. The dosage may be adjusted according to the patient’s age and symptoms.

? For indication (5.3) the usual adult dosage is 60 mg of loxoprofen sodium p.r.n. once orally.

? The dosage may be adjusted according to the patient’s age and symptoms. In principle, the recommended maximum daily dose of loxoprofen sodium capsules is twice daily administration, and the total daily dose should not exceed 180 mg/day.
